[Infos Exposition] Akira Kugimachi to Participate in Art Jakarta 2025

We are pleased to announce that Akira Kugimachi will be participating in Art Jakarta 2025, one of the largest art fairs in Southeast Asia, represented by Artfront Gallery.

At this year’s fair, Kugimachi will present works from his signature series, “Air.”

The Air series originated from an attempt to capture sequences of moments that transcend human gestures—fleeting scenes perceived as fragments of moving images. Through delicate brushwork and the use of translucent mineral pigments (iwa-enogu), the series visualizes the subtle presence and memories that reside within the everyday.

For this exhibition, Kugimachi will present two recent works that mark a further evolution of the Air series. These new pieces reflect a deepening of the artist’s exploration into the transient, almost cinematic quality of visual experience.
