The Air series was painted from a few selected sceneries that I randomly shot from the car window while traveling. It was meant to be a denial of both, any pre-established sense of harmony, and of any human’s will, always aspiring to “create something beautiful”.

This time, I wondered whether I could depict the succession of these scenes as a sequence in video art.

This work bears witness to a trace of the dialogue I had with the sublime scenery I had accidentally came across, as well as to my personal correspondence with the novel Erewhon (by Samuel Butler). The story portrays the encounter with an unknown civilization as being a surprising one, full of notions of respect and consideration. It continues to raise awareness of doubts towards modern civilization even to this day.
